Review: The Might (The Raven Rings #3)

5/5

For fans of: High fantasy, coming-of-age, slow burn romance, finding a place to belong, political and cultural upheaval, travel between worlds, family feuds, lovers-to-enemies, friends-to-lovers

Synopsis: Hirka is finally home in the land of the deadborn. Rime is finally home in Ym. Both are struggling to become the people their worlds need them to be: saviors. The stunning conclusion of the Raven Rings Trilogy will see worlds collide and societies reborn as the tailless girl and the boy destined to lead step into the roles they have shunned for so long.

Review: The conclusion to my new favourite trilogy is here and it blew my mind. From Odin’s Child to The Rot, following Hirka’s story as an unwanted outsider of society in one world and then another was heartbreaking, thrilling, and now to see her rise to become a champion for three worlds on a collision course is just breathtaking. So many times I am disappointed by the endings of trilogies because all the build up just doesn’t have a great pay off. Not here. Three different books set in three different worlds and all the threads that bind them finally come together for an epic conclusion led by the one girl not wanted by anyone in all three worlds. Not wanted by anyone except for Rime, the boy everyone wants but who only has eyes for Hirka. What I loved the most about Hirka and Rime was that they FINALLY shed their chains, shame, and histories to embrace themselves for who they truly are. When they finally do, oh the satisfaction of seeing every single critic shut up and get in line was worth it. If you haven’t started the series already, do it! I can’t wait to see what Siri Pettersen does next.
