Review: Among the Beasts and Briars

Premise: The kingdom of Aloriya has experienced three hundred years of peace and protection from the Wilds, having benefited from the bargain struck between their king and the Lady of the Wilds. At the coronation of their newest queen, the Wilds suddenly attacks. Cerys, the lone survivor of an incident in the wilds years ago and now carris a blood curse, is once again the only survivor. She must traverse the Wilds in search of the Lady of the Wilds and her legendary seat of power to save her home.

Review: Right off the bat, I had a blast reading this book. This is a classic story set in a fairytale world with nothing new to add to the genre, however, the plot was fast paced, the characters are memorable and leave you wanting more, and the banter is great fun. The world building and magic systems are nothing original, but the well-placed twists keep you interested. If you are looking for a fun standalone with fairytale tropes, fun banter, and fast-paced plot, I highly recommend this book.
